Based in London Bridge, Emma Rios is an illustrator, set designer and stylist whose image-making skills aren’t only to be found on the flat page. As well as illustrating with pen and ink, she also builds pictures, scenes and sets for her clients using paper and a variety of props.
When it comes to set design, her biggest inspirations are the bizarre and colourful film The Holy Mountain by Alejandro Jodorowsky, and she’s also influenced by the kaleidoscopic scenes in Busby Berkeley musicals. Recent trips to Mexico and India have pushed her towards more colourful artwork, and she’s always looking for new things to inspire her and trying out fresh ideas.
