Based in Buenos Aires, Gustavo Brigante is an illustrator with a varied, modern style, whose versatility draws interest from a wide range of clients. From photo montage through to fully rendered characters and on to graphical line-based imagery, Gustavo brings energy, imagination and a comic book influence to all the projects he works on.
Growing up in Argentina, Gustavo loved science fiction magazines, comics and Anime. These influences got him into drawing and you can see traces of them in his work today. Meanwhile, his experience in graphic design gives him a strong sense of composition and he’s able to quickly interpret a client brief and turn it into something unique and dynamic.
Approach
Sketching on paper or drawing on his graphics tablet first, Gustavo uses a range of software to develop his imagery including Photoshop, Cinema 4D and Illustrator – or a mix of all three. Sometimes he uses a speed painting technique, but is equally at home creating more detailed illustrations using painting software on his tablet.
Styles
From 3D monsters, to loveable characters and on to complex, layered photography-based work, Gustavo has an eclectic portfolio. He’s like a restless artist, working in a particular style then moving on to another as he experiments and improves his skills, trying to discover a new look and feel for his next piece.Client list
Gustavo’s clients include Adidas, Hugo Boss, TCM/Turner, Quiksilver, Fotolia, MTV, Coca-Cola, Lenovo, Cincinnati Magazine and more.
