Are Pirates Polite?

David Catrow has recently completed illustrating this delightful book published by Scholastic's Orchard books

David Catrow's energetic and engaging illustrations were the perfect fit when Scholastic were looking for an artist to illustrate one of their latest books AreAn illustration of Pirates Polite
Image 1? David's fun use of colour and liveliness brought the story to life!

David tells us a bit below about the inspiration behind the images:

Dear Folks, Some of my happiest moments growing up were spent laying in the soft grass, looking up at the beautiful cloud filled sky and just picking my nose like there was no tomorrow. Or dressing up like Abe Lincoln to recite his entire Gettysburg Address in belch-verse. Or kick back with my best bud Leonard Zeeler to see who could pass gas loud enough to get Mrs Sobnosky 's wiener dog to bark. Those were good times -but I realize now that we are all on this ship together. Our new book shows pirates engaging in some rowdy rhyming stuff to teach some lessons in manners- lessons that in the long run will keep the rest of us from jumping ship. I hope you all find the time to check it out- it's a hoot and a half with raspberries on top!
